66ers Kick Off Read Across America Week

TULSA, Okla., February 26, 2013 - Tulsa 66ers guards Tony Taylor and Chris Quinn kicked off Read Across America Week by visiting Eisenhower International School in Tulsa on Monday afternoon.

The 66ers duo read books to students in separate classrooms while talking about the importance of reading and healthy minds. After reading, the players took questions and answers from the students on what life is like as professional basketball players.

When asked by a kindergarten student what his favorite part of playing for the 66ers was, Taylor told the class it’s the people he gets to meet.

“We are always meeting and interacting with new people,” said Taylor. “Our team is kind of like your class here. We’re very close and care about each other.”

Monday’s event is one of many opportunities the 66ers take advantage of to embrace their role in the Tulsa community and give back to others.
