66ers Seeking Interns for 2012-13 Season

TULSA, Okla., September 13, 2012 - The Tulsa 66ers are looking for interns for the 2012-13 season. Interning with the Tulsa 66ers will allow college students to explore a career in the sports industry and NBA D-League, along with working side-by-side with 66ers employees and their affiliate organization - the Oklahoma City Thunder.

A limited number of internships are available in the following areas:
* Game Operations
* Marketing
* Public Relations

The 66ers internship program targets high-potential students who have demonstrated leadership in academics, work experience and extracurricular activities. The organization is primarily looking for students majoring in Sports Media, Communications, Marketing or Public Relations.

It is important that a student exhibits a high-level of interest and ability and be well rounded as well as technically educated. Internships are an average of 12-16 hours per week.

Students will assist in the following areas:
Game night setup and in-game production
Assist in all game promotions including door give-a-ways, contests, etc.
Assist in managing fan groups on game nights
Assist in marketing and sales campaigns
Ticket sales and box office
Assist in community and promotional events that market Team awareness
Assist in preparing media game night packets
Develop human interest stories/Q and A sessions to be featured on Tulsa66ers.com
Aid in the coverage of Tulsa 66ers open tryouts, training camp, draft and media day
Design creative yet functional marketing materials that support specific sales campaigns
