66ers Help Sapulpa Students Be Healthy and Fit

TULSA, Okla., Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 - The Tulsa 66ers attended a fitness and nutrition assembly at Freedom Elementary in Sapulpa on Friday in partnership with Kohlís Fun and Fit Kids Program.

Fun and Fit Kids is a childhood obesity prevention and awareness campaign designed to promote healthy and active kids.

Tulsa mascot Routie the Roadrunner and members of the 66ers Dance Team participated in Fridayís event alongside over 200 kids between third and fifth grade. The hour-long assembly was filled with games and activities focused on nutrition and exercise.

The 66ers provided motivation for healthy living by encouraging kids to get moving and eat healthy.

Kohlís Fun and Fit Kids Program will visit 12 schools in the greater Tulsa area this academic school year, reaching over 4,000 elementary school students. Program partners, J2Crew and the Tulsa 66ers, will turn school assemblies into a fun and interactive day that students wonít want to miss.
