66ers Edged by Vipers

TULSA, Okla., December 6, 2012 - The Tulsa 66ers fell to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, 99-87, on Thursday night at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, with Oklahoma City Thunder assignment Jeremy Lamb scoring 22 points.

Lamb, who has played three games for Tulsa, has averaged 26.0 points.

Tulsa guard Dominique Sutton collected 22 points along with 10 rebounds and three steals. OKC assignee Daniel Orton scored six points with five boards and two blocked shots.

Tulsa (3-2) got behind early, trailing Rio Grande Valley (2-3) 33-19 at the end of the first quarter. The Vipers controlled the remainder of the half, leading 54-43 at the mid-game break.

Trailing 58-43 with just under 10 minutes left in the third quarter, Tulsa spurred a 21-3 run in a five-minute span to take a 64-61 lead. The game became a back-and-forth contest before the Vipers ended the game on an 11-0 run.

The 66ers had four players grab five or more boards, but were outrebounded by the Vipers, 44-42. Tulsa forced 18 RGV turnovers, including nine off of steals.
