The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), have announced a unique jersey night partnership with The Salvation Army presented by Smith Thompson Home Security. The Legends will celebrate the efforts of The Salvation Army and their volunteers with a specialty jersey night that aims to draw exposure and raise funds for the international mission.

The Legends will wear specialty jerseys celebrating The Salvation Army, uniquely branded with both the Legends and Smith Thompson logos. Select jerseys will be available via a silent auction during the game, with all proceeds going back to Salvation Army. As part of the festivities of the night, select individuals from the organization will be recognized as “Legends of the Night.”

“This is an opportunity to not only continue to raise awareness about The Salvation Army, but also to thank our many volunteers who work overtime through the Christmas season,” commented The Salvation Army’s DFW Metroplex Commander, Major Ward Matthews. “While the Dallas Cowboys game on Thanksgiving traditionally marks the beginning of our season of giving, this Texas Legends game represents a thank you to all of those who have served through the Holiday season.”

The Legends face the Santa Cruz Warriors at 7 pm on January 25. It will be the first matchup between the two teams this season. The Legends and Warriors are currently tied for seventh place in the league with both teams holding a 13-9 record. The Legends recently acquired former-UNC standout PJ Hairston who pounded out 22 points and 14 rebounds in his first appearance with the team.

The game will be broadcast live on television--KTXD47--and radio--KVCE 1160AM, as well as online through the NBADL's YouTube page. For more information on the team or the full season schedule visit www.TexLegends.com. For more information on The Salvation Army visit www.salvationarmyusa.org.
