Frisco, TX, Sept. 7, 2011 – Only three months until tip-off Legends fans! The Texas Legends 2011-12 schedule has been officially released, and the Legends’ home opener will be against in-state rival Austin Toros, on November 26 at 7 pm.
“The countdown has begun,” Texas Legends co-owner Donnie Nelson commented. “Only 79 days to tip-off and we couldn’t be more excited. Our home opener is against the San Antonio Spurs affiliate Austin Toros, so the house will surely be packed! To top it off, that night we will be honoring our inaugural season head coach and true Texas Legend, Nancy Lieberman.”
The Legends schedule features fourteen games against in-state rivals Austin (San Antonio Spurs affiliate) and Rio Grande Valley (Houston Rockets affiliate), as the Legends look to defend their Texas Skillet title from the 2010-11 season. In addition, the Legends take on Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate Tulsa 66ers six times during the course of the season.
“It is shaping up to be a tremendous second season,” Texas Legends co-owner Evan Wyly added. “If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, you better jump on it as soon as possible. We fully anticipate selling out of our allotted seats for season tickets – and the premium seats are going very fast. It’s going to be a fun season!”
The Legends schedule features six unique “Jersey Nights” where the Legends will wear themed jerseys. In honor of those six nights, ten percent of all season ticket sales over the next four business days will be donated back to one of the six “Jersey Night” charities – as selected by the new season ticket holder.
November 26, 2011: Empowering Single Parents Night
January 20, 2012: American Heart Association Night
February 17, 2012: Susan G. Komen Night
March 3, 2012: Military Night presented by Grace After Fire
March 24, 2012: Wipe Out Kids Cancer Night
April 7, 2012: Green Night presented by Quest Recycling
The Legends schedule also features a four-game home-stand over the Holiday break in December, as well as a six-game home-stand in January.
After leading the NBA D-League in season ticket sales in the 2010-11 season, the Legends have continued that trend for the 2011-12 season. There are currently no courtside seats available for Legends home games, and more than 70% of all premium seats (inclusive of food and non-alcoholic beverage) are unavailable. My family and I would like to thank you and your team for everything we experienced this inaugural season with the Legends. What a tremendous season it was! I have held season tickets before for various sports teams since I have been here in Texas over the past six years. However, I have never experienced as much fun as I have when I attended the Legends games this season with my friends, family, or solo. You all have something special going on and I am ecstatic to be a part of it! - Legends Season Ticket Holder
