Legends Announce Partnership with Children's Medical Center

PROCEEDS FOR MONTH OF OCTOBER TO BENEFIT HOSPITAL

The Texas Legends have announced a partnership with Children’s Medical Center in which the team will donate a portion of sales to the hospital.

Throughout the month of October you can purchase a season ticket package with 10% of the entire ticket sale going to Children’s Medical Center. Tickets must be purchased by calling the Legends’ office at 214-469-0822 and with mention of Children’s Medical Center.

“We are honored and thrilled to have the Texas Legends supporting Children’s Medical Center,” says Dr. Kern Wildenthal, president of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Our mission, to make life better for Children, is only made possible through the generosity of people and organizations in our community like the Legends.”

“We are excited to partner with the Legends on this tour, and I look forward to meeting the lucky Legends fans who get to join us on these trips,” commented Smith Thompson Owner Mark Thompson. “Basketball is my favorite sport and the opportunity to see this action up close with some of the best fans in the NBA D-League will be a lot of fun!”

Founded in 1913, the not-for-profit Children's Medical Center is the fifth-largest pediatric health care provider in the country, receiving nearly 700,000 patient visits annually with 595 licensed beds at its two full-service campuses in Dallas and Plano, and multiple specialty clinics and 15 primary care MyChildren’s locations. Children’s was the state’s first pediatric hospital to achieve Level 1 Trauma status and is the only pediatric teaching facility in North Texas, affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center. This year, Children’s is celebrating 100 years of making life better for children.

Every year, Legends players, coaches, and dancers are able to visit Children’s and the experience never fails to bring a new perspective to the season.

“Anybody who has been to one of our games knows the many children’s activities we have going on,” commented Legends Owner Donnie Nelson.  “Our partnership with Children’s Medical Center is an extension of those activities as we work to give back to these children in need throughout the year.”
