Texas Legends Care, presented by Ryan, LLC today announced a joint partnership with JCPenney in which the retailer will fulfill the needs of families chosen by the Texas Legends Care Dream Maker series at all December home games. The United Service Organizations (USO), JCPenney’s December jcp cares charity partner, will solicit applications through its organization to provide the Texas Legends Foundation Board a selection of deserving military families that are in-need this holiday season.

The Dream Maker series, presented by Dr Pepper, is an outreach initiative by Texas Legends Care Foundation that aims to give back to families and members of the North Dallas community. At each Legends home game an individual, nominated through online applications, will be the recipient of a charitable gift aimed at meeting an unfulfilled need. For each home game in December, JCPenney will present a gift to a local military service member or family in-need.

JCPenney, an avid supporter of the USO, will utilize the partnership with the Legends as another unique way to give back to true “Texas Legends.” The partnership builds on the Company’s support of the USO this holiday season.

Throughout the month of December, JCPenney is inviting customers to round up their purchases to the nearest whole dollar and donate the difference to support the USO. Beyond the Dream Maker series, JCPenney has also announced that all veterans and active duty military personnel will receive complimentary tickets to all Legends’ home games in December.

“We are thrilled to work with Texas Legends Care Foundation to continue our support of the USO this December,” said Miki Woodard, vice president of philanthropy at JCPenney. “Our service members and their families make tremendous sacrifices to serve our country, and we hope that our partnership with the Texas Legends will help make their holiday a little merrier this season.”

“JCPenney is such an important member of the North Dallas community” commented Donnie Nelson, Dallas Mavericks’ President of Basketball Operations and Texas Legends Co-Owner. “They have such a genuine interest in giving back to the community, especially those who are out there defending our freedom day in and day out. We are proud to partner with JCPenney in a meaningful way to give back to families in our backyard that have a need.”

The JCPenney initiative will kick off as the Legends host the Austin Toros on Dec. 7th at 7pm at Dr Pepper Arena. Active or retired military personnel may present their ID at the box office to acquire their free game ticket.
