Frisco, TX, Sept. 12, 2011 – The Texas Legends are pleased to announce the formation of a new “Children’s Medical Center” section at all Legends games. Thanks to the support of Children’s, the Legends are excited to be able to offer season tickets (24 games) for the limited availability rate of $180 ($7.50 per game). Furthermore, 10% of all sales in the “Children’s Medical Center” section will go back to support Children’s, which as a not-for-profit is the seventh largest pediatric healthcare provider in the United States.
“It is our mission to not only provide entertainment to the community, but also be an asset that gives back to causes such as Children’s Medical Center,” Texas Legends owner Donnie Nelson commented. “Our Legends players, coaches, and dancers visited Children’s last year, and it is truly our pleasure to be able to partner with the hospital to not only bring a smile to the face of the kids in the hospital, but also help raise awareness and funds to support their mission. In honor of Children’s providing care for kids up to the age of 18, we have established a small number of season tickets available for $180.”
Children’s provides patient care ranging from simple eye exams to specialized treatment in areas such as heart disease, hematology-oncology and cystic fibrosis. In addition, Children's is a major pediatric kidney, liver, intestine, heart and bone marrow transplant center. As the primary pediatric teaching facility for The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the medical staff at Children’s conducts research that is instrumental in developing treatments, therapies, and greater understanding of pediatric diseases.
“Children’s Medical Center is thankful for the Texas Legends support of our patients,” said Pete Kline, president of the Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Community support is critical to Children’s being able to fulfill its mission of providing the best care possible to our patients.”
Season tickets for the “Children’s Medical Center” section can be purchased by calling the Texas Legends offices at 1-214-469-0822 or by emailing info@TexLegends.com. Mention “Children’s Medical Center” section for access to this limited availability offer.
"Nights like that are rare for our family. The game was amazing. My son would not even take a restroom break for fear of missing something. Again, thank you for a wonderful evening filled with great memories for us."
