Jeremy Wise ● 6 feet, 2 inches ● 185 pounds ● Point Guard
Jeremy Wise’s professional career did not start out like he planned. Wise left Southern Mississippi after his junior year to play in the NBA D-League in hopes of improving his NBA draft stock. He was drafted by the L.A. D-Fenders in the third round of the NBA D-League Draft, but was cut before the season started. He was quickly picked up by the Bakersfield Jam and he hasn’t stopped producing since.
Wise, mostly a shooting guard in college, has had to transition to playing the point guard position, but he has consistently displayed the ability to orchestrate an efficient offense. In the last three years with Bakersfield, Wise has averaged at least five assists per night. Last season, Wise actually led the league with 6.3 assists per game as well as being sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.68). Wise isn’t a pure distributor, however, he can also score from the point guard spot. Generating most of his points from pull-up jumpers and transition buckets, Wise has averaged at least 13.9 points per game each season in the NBA D-League.
Prior to his time in the NBA D-League, Wise had three successful years with Southern Miss where he was a three-time All-Conference USA selection and graduated as the sixth all-time leading scorer in Southern Miss history. He is a Mississippi native.
