CEDAR PARK, TX, Dec. 29, 2011 – The Austin Toros held on to defeat the Springfield Armor 105-100 at Cedar Park Center in an up-tempo battle that was tightly contested until the final seconds. The exciting matchup ended with 15 lead changes and 11 ties. Austin was led by Eric Dawson’s double-double of 28 points and 11 rebounds, eight of which were on the offensive glass.

The Toros went into the half with a 60-57 lead behind strong starts by Dawson and Justin Dentmon, who poured in 19 points, five rebounds and four assists. Leo Lyons, in his first action this season, also contributed a solid effort with 14 points, all in the first half, and 7 rebounds. Forwards Terrence Woodbury (13 points) and Jamarr Sanders (10 points) had strong performances, bringing the total of Austin double-digit scorers to 5. Da’Sean Butler made his Toros debut in his first game in nearly two years. He contributed six points and five rebounds off the Austin bench.

Springfield was led by L.D. Williams’ double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Armor guard JamesOn Curry also added 22 points on 8-14 shooting, and a team high five assists. Jeff Foote (17 points), Jerry Smith (17 points), and Lance Hurdle (15 points) rounded out the Springfield double digit scorers.
