FORT WAYNE, IN– The Springfield Armor dominated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 118-87 in front of 3,706 fans in Fort Wayne, IN. The win was the fifth straight for the Armor, setting a new franchise record for most consecutive wins.
The Armor controlled the game from the start building a 14 point lead at the end of the first period where Jeff Foote scored 13 points.
The Armor shot 59% from the field in the third to extend their lead to 32 points going into the locker rooms at the half. Foote finished the first half with 16 points.
The Mad Ants came out of the locker room fired up and outscored the Armor 26-19 in the third but the deficit was just too large to overcome. The Armor continued to roll in fourth period to seal the 31 point victory.
Foote led all scorers with 23 points as the Armor had 6 players finish in double figures. Dennis Horner contributed 17 while JamesOn Curry and Jerry Smith added 16 and 15 respectively.
The Mad Ants were led by Devan Downey who finished with 20 points and 9 assists. Cameron Jones chipped in 15 as Sadiel Rojas and Gilbert Brown each added 14 off the bench.
