In the Second quarter Iowa began to make a comeback. The armor kept up despite the benched speed of Julian Allen but the team would be out scored by Iowa 21-16 and followed it by a devastating 34 additional points in the third. Maxwell continued to succeed for the armor however found himself in foul trouble early in the 3rd. The Iowa lead grew to as much as 14 points.
The final quarter the armor moved the score to within 8 but the Energy held on to take their second win of the season. Maxwell topped the Armor points leader board with 21 points followed by Adam Harrington with 14. Iowa’s top scorers were Curtis Stinson with 19 and Mark Tyndale with 14.
Game attendance for Saturday’s game was 2,108 a drop from Friday night’s opening fan base of 3,940. The Armor will take on the Maine Red Claws Friday December 5, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. in the Portland Exposition.
