The victory pulled the Legends even with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants for the eighth and final playoff spot with two games remaining on the schedule for each team. Texas though holds their own destiny as they control the tiebreaker over the Mad Ants. Therefore, with a win in each of the Legends final two games on the road against the Austin Toros, Texas would find themselves in the playoffs in their expansion season.
After Springfield scored the first bucket of the game, Texas went on an 11-0 run to take a nine-point lead. The Legends stretched their lead to 12 by the end of the opening quarter, taking a 36-24 lead into the second.
Texas was able to maintain a comfortable lead throughout the second quarter. With a 53-43 lead under four minutes to go in the second, the Legends went on a 15-6 sprint to finish the half on top 68-49.
Joe Alexander dominated the first half for Texas, as he shot 9-of-11 from the field, scoring 20 points. Sean Williams and Justin Dentmon added 10 points apiece in the opening half. Lance Hurdle led the way for Springfield in the first half with 12 points.
Rashad McCants sparked a big third quarter, pouring in 11 points in the period. The Legends shot 61.2% through the first three quarters and put the game out of reach by taking a 30-point lead into the fourth, as they went into the final quarter on top 108-78.
McCants finished with a season-high 22 points, while Alexander led Texas with 24 points. Antonio Daniels contributed 11 points and 15 assists.
Recently assigned to the Armor from the Philadelphia 76ers, Craig Brackins led Springfield with 31 points.
