Steal kicked off the month of June with the Worcester Tornadoes, as their mascot Twister celebrated his birthday. The party was the perfect way for Steal to start the summer, as he was able to mingle with fans and other mascots at the celebration. The New Britain Rock Cats also hosted a mascot day, where Steal got to meet fans and enjoy the baseball game with other mascots from southern New England.
Last week, Steal took on local mascots in a race at the Szot Park Inter-Church Softball All-Star Game in Chicopee. Steal won the race, which took place on the field prior to the game, before helping to cheer on the All-Stars with the fans in attendance.
Steal also made an appearance at the Springfield Armor’s own event, where local fans came together to watch the NBA Draft. Steal joined the Armorettes dancers as they mingled with fans and eagerly awaited the New Jersey Nets draft choices. He also helped lead the night’s raffle, which included autographed Armor items and a gift certificate for a courtside suite.
Most recently, Steal helped support the Eastern Connecticut Special Olympics at their “Cop on Top” event, which featured two local police officers who stayed on a rooftop until the organization’s fundraising goal was realized.
Steal also has many events planned for the month of July, starting with an appearance in the East Longmeadow Independence Day Parade. He will march alongside other Armor staff members in front of the expected crowd of nearly 50,000 people.
The following day, Steal will be stopping by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in celebration of their Kids’ Day event. The day will feature photo opportunities and autograph sessions, as well as special giveaways and contests for the museum guests.
Later in the month, Steal will be in Foxboro for the New England Revolution’s mascot day. The event will be a great opportunity for Steal to meet even more fans and engage with some of his favorite mascots from around Massachusetts, while also having a little fun on the field at Gillette Stadium!
Steal is looking forward to seeing all of you at these upcoming events and also at the Armor games in the fall! If your organization has any events that you would like him to attend, please complete our online appearance request form, which is available here.
