The Armor partnered with Rays of Hope, an arm of the Baystate Health Foundation, to raise funds to support breast cancer research. Through a special ticket package that included a Rays of Hope t-shirt, and a silent auction of autographed Armor memorabilia, the Armor were able to raise funds to be donated directly to Rays of Hope.
“We were honored to be chosen by the Springfield Armor to benefit from Paint It Pink Night,” Michelle Graci, manager of fundraising events for Rays of Hope, said. “We were touched by the details the Armor took to tie in Rays of Hope including having autographed pink basketballs in the live auction and breast cancer survivors in the audience. Thank you to the Springfield Armor and their fans for sharing the day with us in support of breast cancer awareness.”
The Armor organization, along with many fans, wore pink to the game in a further show of support for both Rays of Hope and breast cancer awareness.
“We were thrilled to partner with Rays of Hope for this terrific cause,” Armor General Manager Alex Schwerin said. “We were very pleased with the support of the community for this game and the enthusiasm with which our fans embraced the theme.”
