The game was very tight at the outset, as both teams exchanged leads throughout the quarter. Chas McFarland helped the Armor get off to a great start with some strong low post play. His 10 first quarter points helped the visiting team take a 1 point lead into the second quarter. The Mad Ants were able to keep it close through the fine play of Rod Wilmont, who went on a hot streak by hitting 5 for 6 from the field and 3 of 4 from three to score 13 first quarter points, and Darnell Lazare pumped in 11 as he scored on an assortment of post moves.
The Mad Ants took control of the game in the second quarter through some outstanding bench play from Ryan Wittman and Marvin Phillips, Jr. The two combined for 13 second quarter points, and the home team entered half time with a 65-57 lead.
The Mad Ants continued to make plays throughout the second half, and Springfield was never able to make a serious charge. The Mad Ants were led by Darnell Lazare and Chris Kramer, who each scored 22 points. Rod Wilmont and Ryan Wittman provided hot shooting from outside by each hitting 5 three pointers, and each player scored 21 points.
The Armor were led by Scottie Reynolds' 25 points, and Gavin Edwards chipped in 18 points off the bench for the visiting team.
