Armor Ground Skyforce

SIOUX FALLS, SD MAR. 21, 2011 –The Springfield Armor led from start to finish in an emphatic 112-75 victory over the Sioux Falls Skyforce in Sioux Falls last night. The 37-point margin of victory was the largest in Armor franchise history, topping the team’s previous high of 16 points in a 127-111 win over Rio Grande Valley on March 1st, 2010.

The Armor (12-33) raced out to a 21-7 lead after the first quarter and led 50-28 at the half. The Armor held the Skyforce (10-34) to a season-low 75 points and a season-low 33% (29-88) from the field.

The Armor shot a blistering 54% (47-87) from the field, out-rebounded Sioux Falls 50-40, and dished out 21 assists against just 8 turnovers in their strongest performance of the season. Seven Armor players scored in double figures, led by Chas McFarland’s 18-point, 12-rebound effort. Jerry Smith came off the bench to chip in 15 points, Gavin Edwards, Lance Hurdle, and Scottie Reynolds tallied 14 points apiece, New Jersey Nets assignee Ben Uzoh added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, and Jamar Brown finished with 10 points. The victory snapped a five-game losing streak for the Armor.

David Bailey, the Skyforce’s all-time leading scorer, led all scorers with 19 points, while Patrick Ewing Jr. added 17 points and 15 boards. Sean Marshall, formerly of Boston College, came off the bench to add 10 points.
