Alex Schwerin | President
Alex is in his eighth year with the HWS Group and fifth year as President of the Springfield Armor. Prior to his arrival in Springfield, Alex spent five years in minor league baseball working for the Modesto Nuts, the Class A California League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. His career in Modesto began in February of 2004 as the Director of Operations. He was promoted to Assistant General Manager prior to the 2005 season and promoted to General Manager before the 2008 season. While in Modesto Alex built a strong relationship with the team’s major league affiliate the Colorado Rockies. He was also instrumental in major staff accomplishments during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. During those two years the organization broke the full season attendance record twice and the single game attendance record three times. In 2008, the Modesto Nuts were winners of the “Small Business of the Year” award presented by the Modesto Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Cohasset, Mass., Alex graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst with a degree in Sport Management in May 2003. While acquiring his degree Alex spent four years as an Operations Manager at the Mullins Center Arena on campus and spent all four summers working in the Operations Department for the Bay State Games. Away from work Alex enjoys traveling with his wife Jen and spending time with family and friends.
Chris Martrich | Director of Public Relations

Chris is entering his first season with the Armor, joining the staff in November as the Director of Public Relations. Prior to joining the Armor, Chris served as the Communications Assistant for the Round Rock Express, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers in 2013. Chris had previously served as the Media Relations Assistant for Lehigh University Athletics, assuming the role as a direct contact for eight Division I athletic programs.
Chris is a 2012 graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a minor in Marketing. While at Bloomsburg, Chris spent over two years working in the Office of Sports Information, Athletic Marketing and Promotions before completing an academic internship with the Baltimore Orioles as the only full-time intern within the Public Relations Department.
A native of Lehigh Township, Pa., Chris enjoys spending time with friends and family when away from the office.
Kyle Knickerbocker | Director of Ticket Sales
Kyle spent two seasons with the Springfield Armor as an Account Executive and was promoted to the position of Group Sales Manager in May 2012 before transitioning into his current role as the Armor's Director of Ticket Sales. Prior to joining the Armor, he worked as an Account Manager for the New Jersey Nets during the 2009-2010 season. Kyle also previously worked for the PGA TOUR, where he interned in the tournament operations department for The Barclays.
Kyle is a 2009 graduate of Western New England University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management.
As a passionate fan of the locally hated New York Jets and New York Yankees, Kyle makes regular weekend trips back to his hometown of Monroe, New York, during the offseason and attends games at the Meadowlands and Yankee Stadium. However, his number one commitment is to the continued growth of the NBA Development League in the Springfield community.
Brad Medeiros | Sales & Marketing Manager
Brad is in his third year with the Springfield Armor. Brad transitioned into his current role as a Sales & Marketing Manager following stints as an Account Executive and Inside Sales Representative. Brad began his career with the Armor in the summer of 2011 as an intern.
Brad graduated from Western New England University in 2011 with degrees in Sports Management and Marketing. As an undergraduate, Brad played for WNE's football team and was a starter on the ECAC champion Golden Bears during his senior season.
Away from the office, Brad enjoys rooting for his Boston sports teams, camping and snowboarding.
Alex Wolf | Account Executive
Alex is in his first year with the Springfield Armor. Prior to working for the Armor, he was an intern for the New Britain Rock Cats (Double A Affiliate of the Minnesota Twins), and also served as a video production intern with the Armor during the 2011-12 NBA D-League season.
Alex graduated from Western New England University in May 2012 with a degree in Communications and was a member of the school's football team during the 2011 NEFC Championship season. He is a huge Boston sports fan and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Jon DeAndrade | Inside Sales Representative
Jon is in his first year with the Springfield Armor organization after joining the staff in June of 2013. Prior to working with the Armor, Jon was the Marketing Intern for the Danbury Westerners (NECBL) in the summer of 2012.
Jon graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2013 where he earned a degree in Sport Management. During his tenure at UMass, Jon was also a Sponsorship Coordinator for the 2013 SuperCuts Soccerfest held at UMass.
Away from the office, Jon enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his girlfriend, Hannah. Jon likes to make frequent weekend trips back to his hometown of Monroe, Connecticut where he spends time with his family and friends.
Abbie Twohig | Director of In-Game Entertainment
Abbie is in her second season with the Armor as their Director of In-Game Entertainment. She graduated from the University of Vermont in May 2011 with a degree in Sociology and Marketing. During her time at UVM, she also worked in the Athletic Director’s Office as an administrative assistant.
Away from the office, Abbie enjoys relaxing outside and spending time with friends and family.
