The Armor led 47-45 after a back-and-forth first half that saw five lead changes and seven ties. Major Wingate and Dante Milligan led a productive Springfield bench with a combined six points and eight rebounds in the first half. Milligan brought energy to the Springfield defense, tipping several BayHawks passes and finishing with six points and 11 rebounds in just his second game back from a broken nose.
The two teams stayed close throughout the second half until Milliganís acrobatic layup gave the Armor a 75-68 lead with eight minutes to play in the game. Wingate fed Armor leading scorer Morris Almond for another layup a few minutes later and Springfield took a nine point lead. The Armorís lead would grow to as many as 14 after Almondís dagger three-pointer in the corner with two and a half minutes left. Almond finished with 27 points and Springfield went on to win their second home game of the season.
