Brackins, who played five games with the Armor from Dec. 2nd-11th on assignment from the Philadelphia 76ers, returned to Springfield for his second assignment of the season hours before tonight’s 7:00 p.m. tipoff and shot 12-18 from the field, including 4-7 from behind the arc.
JamesOn Curry scored 20 points, Chas McFarland chipped in with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Scottie Reynolds dished out 11 assists to fuel the Armor’s impressive double-digit triumph.
The Armor shot 53.5% from the field and knocked down 11-19 three-point attempts on the evening. The Armor also out-rebounded the BayHawks 45-38 and held Erie to under 40% shooting, just one night after the BayHawks hung 123 points on the Maine Red Claws.
For Erie, Ivan Johnson posted a double-double (23 points, 13 rebounds) and Garrett Temple (21 points) and Tasmin Mitchell (20 points) also scored in double figures in the losing effort.
With the victory, the Armor have already equaled their win total from a season ago and now hold an overall record of 7-15. The BayHawks fell to 15-8 with the loss tonight.
The Armor and the BayHawks will meet again on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the MassMutual Center.
