Armor Acquire Gunter
The 6’10 Gunter, who is a native of Columbus, Miss., played collegiately at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2003-08), where he averaged 7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game in 105 games played. Following the conclusion of his career at Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Gunter, 25, joined the Erie BayHawks during their expansion season (2008-09). Gunter has played in 85 career NBA D-League games, including three games this season with the BayHawks.
“We’re excited to bring Jarvis aboard,” Armor coach Dee Brown said. “Jarvis has experience and will provide us with another quality option in the front court.”
Cuffe, whom the Armor released in order to add Gunter, averaged 7.7 points and 3.3 rebounds in 17 minutes per game with the Armor. He appeared in 10 games and scored a season-high 28 points in a loss to Maine on Nov. 27th.
“We appreciate Kyle’s hard work during his time in Springfield,” Brown said.
Gunter will be in uniform for the Armor’s upcoming road trip to Fort Wayne (Sat. Dec. 25 at 7:30 p.m.) and Maine (Sun. Dec. 26 at 5:00 p.m.). Both games can be seen live on www.nba.com/futurecast.
The Armor will return home on Fri. Dec. 31st when they host Gunter’s former team, the Erie BayHawks, at 7:00 p.m. at the MassMutual Center.
