Armor Acquire Lance Hurdle from Idaho

SPRINGFIELD, MA FEB. 28, 2011 – The Springfield Armor announced today that they have acquired guard Lance Hurdle from the Idaho Stampede in exchange for Tony Bobbitt.

Hurdle (6’2, 195 lbs, University of Miami) has appeared in all 36 games with the Stampede this season, starting 10. Hurdle has averaged 10.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steals in 24.5 minutes per game. Hurdle has scored in double figures 19 times this season, including a season-high 31 points against Maine on Dec. 19th. Hurdle also played in 40 games during the 2009-10 season split between Idaho and Bakersfield, averaging 7.8 points in 21 minutes per game.

“Lance is a young, athletic guard that we’re excited to bring into the fold,” Armor head coach Dee Brown said.

Bobbitt joined the Armor on Jan. 31st and played nine games with the team, starting eight. Bobbitt played in seven games with the Armor during the team’s inaugural season in 2009-10 before suffering a season-ending injury.

“We appreciate Tony’s hard work during the short time he was with us this season,” Brown said. “We wish him luck as he continues his career in Idaho.”

Hurdle will join the Armor for practice on Wednesday and will be available when the Armor take on the league-best Iowa Energy on Thurs. March 3rd at 7:00 p.m. at the MassMutual Center.
