Skyforce Acquires Vandervieren

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Dec. 30, 2011) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Dan Vandervieren from the available player pool. To make room for him on the roster the team waived guard Gabe Pruitt due to injury. He is expected to be in uniform tomorrow night as the Skyforce visits the Dakota Wizards at 7 p.m. CT. The active roster now stands at 10 players.

Vandervieren averaged 5.1 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting 57.9 percent (22-of-38) from the field in 10 games (four starts) with the Austin Toros this season. He was selected by Austin in the seventh round (97th overall) of the 2011 NBA Development League Draft after averaging 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in two seasons (50 games) at Concordia University, St. Paul (D2). The 6-10, 265-pound rookie forward also played at Colorado State (2008-09) and Purdue (2006-07).
