Hamilton and Drew Named to HEAT Summer League Roster

SIOUX FALLS, July 1, 2014- Today, the Miami HEAT have announced that both Justin Hamilton and Larry Drew II have been named to their 2014 Summer League roster. By being named to the HEAT's Summer League roster, Hamilton and Drew will participate in both the Orlando Pro Summer League and Samsung Las Vegas Summer League. The HEAT will begin their Summer League play in Orlando on July 5 and in Las Vegas on July 12. Between the Orlando and Las Vegas Summer Leagues, the HEAT will play a minimum of 10 games.

Hamilton averaged 19.2 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 39 games (all starts) with the Skyforce during the 2013-14 season. Named to the 2014 NBA D-League First Team and 2014 NBA D-League All-Defensive First Team, the 7-0, 255-pound center from LSU earned a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Bobcats before signing a contract with the Miami HEAT for the remainder of the 2013-14 NBA season. During his stint with the HEAT, Hamilton made seven appearances and averaged 3.7 points.

Drew averaged 11.4 points 7.0 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 41 games (36 starts) with the Skyforce during the 2013-14 season. The 6-2, 175-pound point guard out of UCLA led the Skyforce in assists and recorded a season high 14 assists on two occasions, February 21 vs. Austin and April 4 vs. Texas. His 7.0 assists per game is the 8th highest single season average in the history of the Skyforce and was the 5th highest average in the D-League this past season.
