Operation Cares | Roger D. Larsen Benefit Golf Tournament | Sky's the Limit Youth Foundation | Special Forces
The Skyforce hosts the Roger D. Larsen Benefit Golf Tournament each summer. Proceeds from the event go to the Sky’s the Limit Youth Foundation. Each year, Skyforce coaches, players and staff are involved in a variety of Sky’s the Limit outreach activities. Sky’s the Limit distributes funds to local organizations that help South Dakota kids and Dakota State University (Roger’s alma mater) for a scholarship in his name. The event has raised $283,164 in 11 years.
Roger Larsen was a member of the Skyforce ownership group from 1993-99 and again from 2001 until his life came to a tragic halt on Feb. 13, 2002. Larsen and current Skyforce owner Greg Heineman were business partners at Williams Insurance for 31 years prior to his unexpected death.
