Skyforce to Host Benefit Golf Tournament

Sioux Falls, S.D. (May 15, 2007) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that they will host the 6th Annual Roger D. Larsen Benefit Golf Tournament on Monday, May 21 at Minnehaha Country Club. Registration for the four-person scramble begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m.

Entry fee for the event is $600 which includes green frees, cart rental, unlimited range balls, gift bag, lunch on the course, free drinks, cocktail hour and banquet dinner. There will be a live auction following the banquet to help raise additional money for the event.

The Skyforce will cover all expenses related to the event with 100% of the money raised going to the Sky's the Limit Youth Foundation. Each year, Skyforce coaches, players and staff are involved in a variety of Sky's the Limit outreach activities. Sky's the Limit will distribute funds to local organizations that help South Dakota kids and to Dakota State University (Roger's alma mater) for a scholarship in his name. Last year's event raised another $42,675, pushing the five year total to $167,675.

Roger Larsen was a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce ownership group from 1993-99 and again from 2001 until his life came to a tragic halt on February 13, 2002, as a result of heart failure. Larsen and current Skyforce owner Greg Heineman were partners at Williams Insurance for 31 years prior to his unexpected death.
