Timberwolves Re-Assign Lee to Skyforce
Sioux Falls, S.D. (Feb. 29, 2012) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the assignment of Minnesota Timberwolves rookie guard Malcolm Lee. This marks his second stint with the Skyforce this season as he was previously assigned from Feb. 6-12. He is expected to be in uniform tomorrow night as the Skyforce hosts the Bakersfield Jam at 7 p.m. CT. The active roster now stands at 11 players.
Lee averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists in three games (all starts) during his first stint with the Skyforce. His best outing came on Feb. 7 as he posted 16 points and a team-high six assists against the Dakota Wizards.
Lee, who underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee on Dec. 30, was acquired by the Wolves in a draft-day trade after being selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft. He averaged 9.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in three seasons (94 games) at UCLA. The 6-5, 200-pound guard earned both All-Pac-10 First Team and Pac-10 All-Defensive Team honors as a junior last season.
