Bobby Jones Earns GATORADE Call-Up to San Antonio Spurs

NEW YORK, April 1, 2008 – Sioux Falls Skyforce forward Bobby Jones today earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the San Antonio Spurs. Jones is expected to be in uniform and available for action tonight when the Spurs host the Golden State Warriors in San Antonio.

Jones has appeared in five games with the Skyforce, averaging 12.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 28.0 minutes.

The Spurs are the fifth NBA team Jones will suit up for this season. He had stints with the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies prior to his time in Sioux Falls and call-ups to the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat during his time in the D-League.

The 24th GATORADE Call-Up this season, Jones holds NBA averages of 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds in 11.8 minutes over 42 games this season. Last season, Jones appeared in 44 games with the Philadelphia 76ers, averaging 2.5 points and 1.4 rebounds in 7.8 minutes per game.

Originally selected in the second round (37th overall) of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jones’ draft rights were traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on draft night. Jones played four seasons at the University of Washington, appearing in 135 career games (106 starts) where he averaged 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds. He earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors as a senior, finishing his collegiate career as the 20th all-time leading scorer in Washington history with 1,226 points.
