Charlotte’s Ajinca and Singletary Assigned to Sioux Falls Skyforce

NEW YORK, March 9, 2009 – The Charlotte Bobcats today assigned Alexis Ajinca and Sean Singletary to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate Sioux Falls Skyforce. Ajinca and Singletary are the 31st and 32nd assignments of the 2009 NBA D-League season, respectively.
Originally selected in the first round (20th overall) by the Bobcats in the 2008 NBA Draft, Ajinca has appeared in 31 games for the Bobcats, four as a starter, and averaged 2.3 points in 5.9 minutes. He recorded a career-high 12 points in a loss at New Orleans on Dec. 10, 2008.
Prior to entering in the NBA Draft, Ajinca played two seasons professionally in his native France where he averaged 5.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in 10.8 minutes playing for Hyeres-Toulon of the French ProA League.
Singletary, who was selected in the second round (42nd overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, has appeared in 24 games for the Bobcats this season after being traded from Phoenix in Dec. 10, 2008. In 37 games this season, including 13 with the Suns, Singletary is averaging 2.4 points in 8.2 minutes.
A four-year contributor at the University of Virginia, Singletary finished his collegiate career averaging 16.9 points and 4.8 assists in 123 career games. A three-time All-ACC First Team selection, Singletary finished his career as the only player in ACC history with 2,000 points, 500 assists, 400 rebounds and 200 steals.
Both players are expected to join the Skyforce today and be available on Friday, March 13 when the team plays the Reno Bighorns on the road.
