Skyforce Kicks Off Read to Achieve Week
Sioux Falls, S.D. (February 6, 2007) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce will celebrate John Morrell Read to Achieve Week this week by visiting several schools around the community lecturing students about the importance of reading and showing respect to others as well as to yourself by saying no to drugs and alcohol.
Skyforce coaches Mo McHone and Nate Tibbetts, along with the players and front office staff will visit over 4,800 students as they will explain how reading has been and still is an important part of their lives. The coaches and players will also stress the importance of respecting friends, family, and especially teachers as they will all play an important role in your success. At the conclusion of the 30-minute program each student will be given a John Morrell Read to Achieve bookmark which will encourage students to read in their spare time. The bookmark also contains a coupon good for a free ticket to a Skyforce home game on either February 9, 10 or 13. The Skyforce would like to thank John Morrell for sponsoring the Read to Achieve program and giving these students an opportunity to see the team in action.
