Skyforce Announces 2010-11 Schedule
Sioux Falls, S.D. (August 9, 2010) – The Sioux Falls Skyforce begins their 22nd season on Sunday, Nov. 21 on the road against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The season opener tips off at 4 p.m. CT at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The home opener is set for Saturday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. CT against the rival Dakota Wizards.
The Skyforce-Mad Ants contest is the first of 50 regular season games for Sioux Falls, 24 of which will take place at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Skyforce will play 24 road games and will also play two games at the 2011 NBA Development League Showcase from Jan. 10-13 at the South Padre Island Convention Centre in South Padre Island, Texas.
Sioux Falls will play 16 of its 24 home games on Friday or Saturday, including the annual Christmas Night game on Saturday, Dec. 25 against Dakota. Fans will see 12 different visiting teams take the court at the Sioux Falls Arena.
Also highlighting the 2010-11 schedule is the fifth annual NBA D-League All-Star Game and the Dream Factory skills competition, which will take place as part of NBA Jam Session presented by adidas at NBA All-Star 2011 in Los Angeles.
For the second consecutive year, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce and Springfield Armor, while the Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, New Mexico Thunderbirds, Reno Bighorns, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends, Tulsa 66ers and Utah Flash.
