The 2007 D-League Showcase is in the books after a whirlwind 12 games in three days. The Showcase saw plenty of great basketball action in front of scouts from the NBA and overseas, as well as the great basketball fans of Sioux Falls. Here are some of the best teams, players, and games that I saw in my time at the Showcase.

Idaho, Colorado, Sioux Falls, and a Bakersfield team that came into the Showcase on an six-game losing streak all went undefeated in Sioux Falls. The Skyforce cruised in front of their home crowd, winning both of their games by double-digit margins. Idaho stayed hot, winning their eighth and ninth straight games, while Colorado knocked off Dakota for the first time in three tries this season.
Marquee Matchup: Dakota vs. Colorado, Wednesday
The final game of the Showcase was the highly anticipated matchup between the D-League's division leading teams. The Wizards and the 14ers engaged in a highly entertaining 126-116 shootout with Colorado coming out on top. In a game full of impressive offensive performances, Dakota's Quemont Greer posted 40 points in a losing effort. Elton Brown was a force in the paint for Colorado, scoring 25 points with eight rebounds. Both teams shot over 50.0% from the field.
All-Showcase Team:
Brian Chase, Los Angeles: 19.0 points, 5.5 assists
Von Wafer, Colorado: 20.5 points, 6-11 three-pointers
Kevinn Pinkney, Bakersfield: 25.0 points, 6.5 rebounds
Jawad Williams, Anaheim: 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds
Jared Reiner, Sioux Falls: 19.0 points, 8.0 rebounds
Best Athlete: Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Fort Worth Flyers
Mensah-Bonsu, on assignment from the Dallas Mavericks, is a man among boys in the D-League. Even though the Flyers were not able to pull out a victory at the Showcase, Mensah-Bonsu impressed with a variety of vicious dunks and emphatic blocked shots.
Most Active: Louis Amundson, Colorado
Grabbing rebounds, taking charges, picking up some floor burns, and even throwing a behind-the-back pass at one point, Amundson was all over the court in his two games at the Showcase. The NBA scouts in attendance had to be impressed by Amundson, who is your protoypical player who does all the dirty work that any team needs to be successful.
Best Point Guard: Brian Chase, Los Angeles

Best Debut: Jose Barea, Fort Worth Flyers
Literally hours after being assigned to the Flyers by the Dallas Mavericks, the rookie point guard from Northeastern was in Sioux Falls Arena for Wednesday's game against the Skyforce. Given the chance for some playing time in the D-League, Barea came through with 21 points and eight assists. He should join the ranks of outstanding point guards who are currently on D-League rosters.
Best Comeback: Bakersfield vs. Austin, Wednesday
The Jam trailed by nine points with 1:13 remaining, but three straight Austin turnovers let Bakersfield right back into the game. Gerry McNamara sank two huge free-throws to tie the game after suffering a hard foul, and Bakersfield even had a chance to win the game at the buzzer when Tony Bobbitt's three attempt rimmed out. Bakersfield went on to win in overtime despite being outrebounded 64-30 for the game.
