The Dakota Wizards, NBA affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, opens their 17th season on Friday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. CT when they host the Los Angeles D-Fenders at the Bismarck Civic Center. The D-Fenders return to the league after sitting out the 2010-11 season.
Dakota plays 12 of its 24 home games on the weekend, highlighted by the Wizards annual New Year’s Eve game against their rival, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. The Wizards will also play host to the Springfield Armor, who will be making their first-ever trip to the Bismarck Civic Center.
The NBA D-League Showcase will once again be played this season, taking place in mid-January. An announcement with specific details on the event will be announced at a later date. In addition to the NBA D-League Showcase, the NBA D-League All-Star Game is scheduled for February 25 in Orlando.
For the third consecutive year, the NBA D-League will feature two conferences, East and West. The Eastern Conference will consist of the Dakota Wizards, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Iowa Energy, Maine Red Claws, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Springfield Armor and the expansion team in Canton, while the Western Conference includes the Austin Toros, Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Reno Bighorns, Idaho Stampede, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Texas Legends and Tulsa 66ers.
