Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Shulmith (Shu) always had the dream of working for the NBA.
As Executive Vice President of the Vipers, Shu develops and implements an overall sales strategy to retain current clients while also driving new business to increase overall revenue performance in group sales and season tickets. He manages groups and coordinates pre-game and half-time shows on game nights.
Shu has been involved with basketball for a long time, having played professionally in India and coached the sport for over five years. He has an wide-ranging experience working with different cultures. He taught at the American School of Bombay of the IBO, an International school as a PE Teacher while assisting with after school activities and serving as a basketball coach. He oversees the youth basketball programs for the Vipers.
Shu obtained several internships with minor league teams that include the Des Moines Buccaneers, the St. Paul Saints, and finally the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. He then spent two years working with the NBA Development League Anaheim Arsenal before joining the Vipers in May of 2009 as their Director of Business Development. Shu graduated with a Masters degree in Sports Management from St. Cloud State University in May 2007 and also has a Masters in Sociology, and an undergraduate degree in Statistics.
Shu also likes to learn about different cultures, but says basketball is his passion and religiously plays it atleast three times each week with new and old friends.
