Jonah is in his third season with the Vipers. You can usually find him at his computer typing up a press release, updating the website/twitter/facebook or coming up with a marketing plan. Jonah is also part of the Vipers broadcast crew. He is a co-host of Inside the Vipers Nest (every Thursday from 6-to-7 p.m. on 104.9 Jack FM (95.3 FM on South Padre Island)), the color commentator for home games and play-by-play broadcaster for road games.
Jonah previously worked as a basketball broadcaster and assistant Sports Information Director at the University of Texas-Pan American. During the last four summers he has been the play-by-play broadcaster and media relations for the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings (United League Baseball) in Harlingen. Over the last two summers, Jonah has twice been named an All-Star Broadcaster by The San Angelo Standard Times, earned two Broadcaster of the Year Awards and one Communications Executive of the Year Award.
A 2007 graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, Jonah set a WTBU (student radio station) record by working 248 sportscasts in four years. He also hosted three different shows, two with sports themes and one with music.
The Merrick, New York native is most proud of his charity work. In high school, Jonah raised thousands of dollars for Tikun Olam during his time as a member of United Synagogue Youth. He was also a three-time Hebrew School Valedictorian and counts reading Torah at the Western Wall among the greatest thrills of his life.
Jonah played the cello for nine years starting in fourth grade, playing in several All County Orchestras and Long Island String Festivals.
