Vipers Acquire Christian Polk

MCALLEN, Texas – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers today announced that they have acquired guard Christian Polk.

Polk (6-3, 195, Texas-El Paso) appeared in 32 games and averaged 9.4 ppg with the Springfield Armor during the 2012-13 NBA Development League regular-season.

He scored a season-high 21 points on two occasions, first on Nov. 30 in a home loss to Sioux Falls, and again on Jan. 7 against Reno at the NBA Development League Showcase.

Polk began his college career with Arizona State, where he played for the Sun Devils from 2006-08. Then, he played two seasons at The University of Texas-El Paso from 2009-11, where he averaged 10.6 ppg for the Miners.

Polk is expected to join the Vipers Friday, April 19, when the team travels to Tulsa for Game 1 of the NBA D-League Semi-Finals. RGV will be back at home Sunday, April 21 when they host Tulsa in Game 2 at 5 p.m. at State Farm Arena.
