Secondary Statistician Position 2012-2013 – Reno Bighorns
The Reno Bighorns, NBA Development League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz, are seeking a game night IDS Statistician. This individual would need to both understand the game of basketball and also be technically savvy. The NBA Development League uses IDS Statistician equipment which is comprised of a group of touch screen computers that send the live data, which the statistician inputs to the website for viewers at home and generate box scores throughout the game. This position is a part-time position and offers stipend compensation. Start Date: November, 2012
Arrive 2 hours before game time
Help oversee pre-game setup of all stats equipment
Assist with comparing pre-game input of game officials, rosters, etc.
Communicate each game with NBA IDS Help Desk
Input all secondary stats and information throughout the entire game
Help validate all stats throughout the game with IDS program and Official Scorer to ensure 100% accuracy
NBA IDS Statistical Training (provided by the league on September 29-30 in Secaucus, New Jersey)
Must work well with computers
Must be able to multitask
Must understand the game of basketball and the rules and regulations of the NBA
Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
Previous experience working in statistics at the collegiate or professional level preferred
Must be available to work a flexible game schedule that can include nights, weekends and holidays, as assigned
