Roster Changes for the Reno Bighorns

RENO, January 26th -- Kyle Omar Davis, a 6’ 9” 235 lb center from Auburn University, will be playing with the Reno Bighorns this Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Downtown Reno Events Center.

Born June 3, 1982 in Blakely, Georgia, Davis most recently played in the NBA Development League for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in 2007-08 and the Pepsi Pro Summer League for the Indiana Pacers in 2007.

Davis ranks as the all-time blocked shot leader in Auburn history, second in SEC history, and 24th in NCAA history. He also owns Auburn's top three single-season marks in blocked shots and led the SEC in blocked shots all four years.

In his senior year at Auburn University, he started 14 of 28 games. Grabbed double-digit rebounds in nine games. Scored career-high 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in only 24 minutes against Colorado State. Posted a double-double of 12 points and ten rebounds against New Orleans. Recorded career-high 16 rebounds against LSU. Blocked six shots on four occasions. Scored 14 points against Grambling.

“Adding Kyle to our roster improves our defense because of his shot blocking ability,” said Assistant Coach Jason Glover. “He is very long and athletic and increases our depth on the front line.”

Davis’ achievements include playing in the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2003, the NBDL Semifinals in 2005, and was a USBL Regular Season Champion in 2007.

Jamaal Thomas was waived due to injury.
