RENO, NEV., November 2, 2012 — The Reno Bighorns added eight players to their roster in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft on Friday night.

“The draft went very well, we are excited about the combination of veteran players and younger guys,” said Bighorns head coach Paul Mokeski. “The players we picked tonight will blend in well with the group of guys we having coming back.”

The Bighorns selected Ralph Sampson III, son of NBA great Ralph Sampson. The team also selected two players from local tryouts, adding to the two local tryout players already coming to training camp.

“Coach Mokeski and his staff did a great job both in preparing for the draft and putting together a solid training camp,” said Bighorns owner Herb Santos, Jr. “This team is going to be good.”

The players drafted tonight will join the eight other players already coming to training camp: Marcus Landry, Anthony Richardson, Darnell Jackson, Cyril Awere, Will Blalock, Adrian Oliver, Suleiman Braimoh, and Brandon Armstrong.

*The Bighorns acquired a third round pick today after trading Chris Ayer to the Maine Red Claws.

Training camp begins in Reno next Saturday, November 10.
