RENO, NEV. The Memphis Grizzlies have re-assigned rookie guard Josh Selby to the Reno Bighorns for the third time this season, it was announced today. This marks the fifth NBA player assignment to the Bighorns this season.

Selby has played in 23 games with the Grizzlies this season averaging 2.5 points, 1.2 assists, 0.6 rebounds and 0.3 steals per game. His NBA season was highlighted on December 30 against the Houston Rockets when he had nine points, seven assists and two rebounds in 26 minutes of play.

Selby has previously played six games with the Bighorns this season, averaging 22.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game. In his last game with the Bighorns on March 30 against the Idaho Stampede, he posted a triple-double with season-highs in points (32), rebounds (10) and assists (10).

Drafted in the second round (49th overall) of the 2011 NBA Draft out of Kansas, Selby rejoins former Kansas Jayhawk center Paul Mokeski, head coach of the Bighorns. Selby played one year for the Jayhawks, averaging 7.9 points, 2.2 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 26 games.

In his senior year of high school, Selby attended Lake Clifton High School and averaged 32 points, seven assists, five rebounds and two steals per game. He was ranked the top prospect out of high school by and was named the 2010-11 NCAA Preseason Rookie of the Year.

Selby will take the court with the Bighorns when they travel Rio Grande Valley for a two-game series against the Vipers on April 6 and 7 at the State Farm Arena.
