Butler spent much of the 2007 season in the Czech Republic playing with the BK Prostejov. He returned to the United States with the Colorado 14ers for the 2008-2009 season. While with the 14ers, Butler played in 26 games and averaged 5.7 ppg.
Butler is most notably remembered for his role on the 2005-2006 George Mason Final Four “Cinderella” team. During George Mason’s Final Four run Butler was named the Washington D.C regional MVP, after George Mason defeated Michigan State, Wichita State, North Carolina and the number 1 seeded Connecticut Huskies. Butler averaged 12.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists during his senior year at George Mason.
Butler will join the Bighorns on the road Tuesday March 10 against the Bakersfield Jam.
The NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA’s official minor league and features 16 teams with direct affiliations to NBA teams for the 2008-09 season. An expansion team will begin play in Portland, Maine for the 2009-10 season. Sixty former NBA Development League players were on 2008-09 NBA start-of-season rosters, and the league continues to develop current NBA coaches and referees.
