BOISE, IDAHO— The NBA D-League’s leading scorer Blake Ahearn scored 28 points Saturday night but was held scoreless in the fourth quarter and the Reno Bighorns lost 106-92 to the Idaho Stampede. Zach Graham scored 20 points while Chris Ayer posted 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Bighorns. Tony Bobbit led the Stampede with 21 points.
The Stampede never trailed in the game, converting on 52.6 percent of their shot attempts, compared to the Bighorns 35 percent shooting from the field. The Bighorns were outrebounded (53-43) and out assisted (30-19) to fall to under .500 for the first time since Jan. 28.
Terrance Thomas posted a solid game with four points, seven assists and 10 rebounds and Memphis Grizzlies assignee Josh Selby had 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists for the Bighorns.
The Bighorns will look for revenge Saturday night as the teams tip off again at the CenturyLink Arena at 6 p.m. PT. The teams will finish the three-game series on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at the Reno Events Center.
