Bighorns Players Return From NBA Training Camp

RENO, NEV.— Reno Bighorns’ players Blake Ahearn, Zach Graham and Doug Thomas are all returning to the team after stints in NBA training camps. Ahearn attended the Los Angeles Clippers camp, Graham attended the Bighorns affiliate Atlanta Hawks camp and Thomas attended the San Antonio Spurs camp. All three players were waived from their training camp teams.
Ahearn played five games for the Bighorns this season averaging 25 points and 7 assists during that stretch. Ahearn led the NBA D-League in points per game, was second minutes played and sixth in assists per game.
Graham also played five games with the Bighorns and returns to Reno after competing for an NBA roster spot in his hometown of Atlanta. As a player who made the Bighorns roster via open tryout, the rookie impressed throughout the season, averaging 15.6 points and 4 rebounds in 33 minutes per game off the bench. He proved to be an effective scorer for the Bighorns, shooting 53 percent from the field, including 35 percent on three-pointers.
Thomas has played 99 games in three seasons with the Bighorns. He has averaged 8 points and 7.2 rebounds this season.
All three players will be on the Bighorns roster for their game on Wednesday, December 21st against the Idaho Stampede, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trailblazers and Utah Jazz. Fans can bid a farewell to Nick Fazekas that night as he will be making his final appearance with the team. “$5 Fazekas Tickets” will be available for any bowl seat at the Reno Events Center.
