BACKGROUND

Early entry candidate for the 2002 NBA Draft. Played one season at Rhode Island, after first two seasons at Paris Junior College in Texas. Withdrew from school after the season to pursue a professional career.

As a junior, averaged 14.1 points and 5.2 rebounds. Appeared in 18 games, starting five. Scored career-high 25 points on two occasions, at Brown on Dec. 28 and against Xavier on Jan. 23. Shot 10-for-15 from the field in the game against Xavier, and scored over half of URI’s points in that contest. Led team with 18 points in win at George Washington on Jan. 26. Was named Atlantic-10 Player of the week after Xavier and George Washington games. Recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds against Richmond on Feb. 20. Had a 15 point, 11 rebound double-double in the season finale against St. Bonaventure on Mar. 2. Converted a tip-in with 6.4 seconds left to give URI a 67-66 win over Northeastern on Dec. 22 in his first collegiate game at Rhode Island.

As a sophomore at Paris JC, averaged 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds. Appeared in only 18 games due to injury. Led team in scoring. Scored season-high 31 points against Panola JC. Was named Second Team All-Conference and All-Region. Helped lead team to a 20-11 overall record.

As a freshman, averaged 10.9 points and 7.6 rebounds.
