BACKGROUND

Played for the Houston Rockets in the NBA in 2001-02 and 2002-03. In 2002-03, appeared in 49 games, averaging 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.9 minutes a contest. In 2001-02, appeared in 68 games, averaging 3.8 points and 3.1 rebounds in 16.3 minutes a contest. Started 12 times. Selected by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2nd round (#34 pick overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft. Draft rights traded to Houston.

Finished four-year career as the 10th all-time scoring leader in Maryland history with 1,733 points. Also ranks as the fifth all-time leading rebounder and second all-time leading shot blocker. Named Third Team All-ACC as a senior, Second Team as a junior, and First Team as a sophomore. Earned Honorable Mention All-America by the Associated Press the final three years of his career.

As a senior, averaged 12.2 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocked shots. Started all 36 games. Led team in blocked shots, ranked second in rebounding, and ranked third in scoring. Scored in double figures 23 times, tying a career-high with 26 points against Clemson. Blocked two or more shots in 24 games. Recorded 24 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in season opener against Louisville. Tallied 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four blocks against North Carolina.

As a junior, averaged 15.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots. Started all 34 games. Ranked third in the ACC in rebounding and ranked fourth in blocked shots. Posted 12 double-doubles, becoming the first Terrapin since Joe Smith to record four straight double-doubles. Scored season-high 25 points against Kentucky. Registered 20 points and 12 rebounds at Duke. Blocked career-high seven shots against Tulane and Wake Forest.

As a sophomore, averaged 15.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocked shots. Led team in rebounding and blocked shots and finished second in scoring. Scored career-high 26 points twice, at Kentucky and at Clemson. Grabbed career-high 16 rebounds at North Carolina State. Became the only player in school history to record back-to-back double-doubles in the NCAA Tournament with 18 points and 10 rebounds against Valparaiso and 20 points and 12 rebounds against Creighton.

As a freshman, averaged 7.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 16.0 minutes a contest. Posted first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Duke. Scored 10 points against North Carolina. Averaged 10.5 points in the ACC Tournament.
