BACKGROUND

An early entry candidate for the 2002 NBA Draft. Signed with Alabama for the 2001-02 season, but was not granted academically eligibility and did not enroll. Returned to Shelton State and did not play this past season. Earned Third Team NJCAA All-American mention and Alabama Junior College Player of the year honors following sophomore season at Shelton State in 2000-01. Named All-State for Alabama junior colleges both seasons at Shelton State. Recorded 50 double-doubles in 56 game junior college career.

As a sophomore in 2000-01, averaged 20.1 points, 18.1 rebounds, and six blocked shots. Led nation in rebounding. Had 12 games of at least 20 points and 20 rebounds in the same game. Collected 37 points and 25 rebounds against Delgado CC on Nov. 23. Scored 17 points and grabbed a season-high 30 rebounds against Bevill State CC-Fayette on Feb. 24. Talled 28 points and 21 rebounds against Wallace CC-Selma on Dec. 19, and 30 points and 20 rebounds in the rematch on Feb. 8. Scored 27 points and grabbed 25 rebounds against John Calhoun on Feb. 19. Scored 22 points on 11-for-11 shooting and snared 20 rebounds against Lawson State on Feb. 5. Recorded 18 points and 28 rebounds against Columbia State (TN) CC on Nov. 24. Earned Junior College Athlete of the Year honors from the Alabama Sports Writers Association.

As a freshman in 1999-2000, averaged 15.1 points, 13.7 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

As a senior at Livingston High School, averaged 12 points and eight rebounds a game as a scrawny, 6-6 forward. Grew three inches while he was attending junior college.
