BACKGROUND
Participated in training camp with the Sacramento Kings in 2004. Selected by the Sacramento Kings in the second round (#48 pick overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft. Originally an early entry candidate for the 2003 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration.
Career Highlights: Named Honorable Mention All-American by AP his junior
and senior years. Was a three-time All-OVC selection and was OVC Player of the
Year as a senior. Named OVC Freshman of the Year in 2000-01. Ranks as Morehead
State's all-time leading scorer (and fourth in OVC history) with 2,381 career
points, 11th all-time rebounder with 725 rebounds, and second all-time in assists
with 417. Earned all-tournament honors at the 2004 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament
after averaging 17.3 points and 3.0 assists.
Senior (2003-04): Averaged a league-high 21.8 points (ranked 13th nationally)
and ranked fourth in rebounding (7.3) and assists (5.1). Started 28 of 29 games.
Surpassed the 30-point mark in five contests. Scored season-high 37 points at
IPFW. Tallied 30 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists against Eastern Kentucky.
Distributed season-high 11 assists against Greenville College. Scored 26 points
at Indiana. Erupted for 36 points against Jacksonville State in the first round
of the OVC Tournament. Recorded 24 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and
six steals against Murray State in the OVC Tournament semi-finals.
Junior (2002-03): Averaged 22.5 points (ranked 12th nationally), 6.2
rebounds, and 4.0 assists. Started 28 of 29 games. Exploded for career-high
43 points against Eastern Kentucky. Erupted for 42 points against Taylor University.
Recorded 35 points, eight rebounds, and five assists against Marshall. Recorded
a double-double of 30 points and 12 rebounds against SE Missouri State. Paced
squad with 18 points and seven rebounds at Arizona State. Led team with 22 points
against Tennessee Tech in the OVC Tournament.
Sophomore (2001-02): Averaged 22.3 points (third in the OVC, tenth nationally)
and a team-high 6.9 rebounds. Started all 29 games. Ranked in the top 15 in
every league statistical category. Scored in double figures in every game and
posted six double-doubles. Registered season-high 38 points against Tennessee-Martin.
Posted a double-double of 37 points and ten rebounds against Murray State. Registered
33 points against Austin Peay. Recorded 32 points and nine rebounds at Vanderbilt.
Tallied27 points and career-high 14 rebounds at IUPUI.
Freshman (2000-01): Averaged a team-high 16.7 points. Started all 27
games. Scored in double figures 26 times, with a season-high of 28 points to
go with nine rebounds at Wright State. Posted 25 points against SE Missouri
State. Scored 25 points in collegiate debut against Huntington. Earned Second
Team All-OVC honors.
