BACKGROUND
Career Highlights: Participated in NBA training camp with the Denver Nuggets in the fall of 2005. Played in the Greek A2 League during the 2004-05 season, averaging 4.1 points and 4.7 rebounds in 11 games.
College Highlights: Named
First Team All-Sun Belt Conference as a senior and was selected as the league's
Newcomer of the Year. Led the nation and broke the school record for field goal
percentage, shooting 67.8 percent from the field. Named Honorable Mention All-America
by Sports Illustrated. Finished collegiate career at Western Kentucky after playing
his first three seasons at Florida State. Sat out the 2002-03 season at Western
Kentucky under NCAA transfer rules.
Senior (2003-04): Was the only
player in the Sun Belt Conference to average a double-double with 15.9 points
and 10.3 rebounds per contest. Posted a league-high 15 double-doubles, including
five games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds. Averaged career highs in steals,
assists and blocks. Started all 28 games. Posted career highs of 29 points and
16 rebounds against Marshall. Tallied 23 points and 16 rebounds against Ball State.
Had 23 points and eight rebounds against New Mexico State.
Junior
(2001-02): Led the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg), while averaging 8.1 points
and shooting 49 percent from the field. Started 22 of 28 games. Scored in double
figures 10 times and pulled down ten or more rebounds in six games. Recorded career-high
28 points vs. Elon. Posted 15 points and 10 rebounds against eventual National
Champion Maryland and Virginia. Grabbed 12 rebounds in a victory over Duke. Pulled
down a career-high 13 rebounds vs. Clemson in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
Posted 13 points and 12 rebounds vs. Maryland in the ACC Tournament.
Sophomore
(2000-01): Averaged 6.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per contest.
Started 21 of 29 games. Posted season-high 23 points and 10 rebounds against Rhode
Island. Tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds against Morgan State.
Freshman
(1999-00): Averaging 1.8 points and 2.1 rebounds in 6.4 minutes a contest.
Came off the bench in all 28 games. Recorded season-high 12 points vs. Duke.
Personal:
Majored in general studies with an emphasis on behavioral sciences. Shed over
100 pounds from the time he enrolled in college to the end of his collegiate career.
Was recruited by high-major college football programs in high school, despite
the fact he did not play the sport.
