BACKGROUND

Participated in training camp with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2002. Selected by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2nd round (# pick overall) )of the 2002 NBA Draft. Draft rights traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in 2002.

Finished collegiate career as 43rd player in UCLA history to top 1000 career points. Helped lead UCLA to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances during his career, including three straight years advancing to the Sweet Sixteen.

As a senior, averaged 13.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. Started all 31 games. Led the team in assists. Recorded four double-doubles. Scored career-high 34 points, hitting 7-for-10 from three-point range against Southern Cal on Jan. 10. Grabbed career-high 15 rebounds to go with 13 points against Arizona on Feb. 14. Tallied 17 points and career-high 11 assists against Cincinnati in the NCAA Tournament on Mar. 17. Led team with 23 points and 11 rebounds against Missouri in the Sweet Sixteen in his last collegiate game.

As a junior, averaged 11.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists. Started 26 of 32 games. Finished sixth in the conference in rebounding. Led squad in rebounding nine times, and recorded five double-doubles. Scored season-high 32 points on 14-for-19 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds against Stanford on Mar. 3. Shot 9-for-11 from the field against Oregon, scoring 26 points on Jan. 27. Grabbed season-high 11 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen against Duke on Mar. 22. Earned honorable mention All-Pac 10 honors.

As a sophomore, averaged 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds in 14.8 minutes a game. Started once. Missed the fall quarter due to academics. Tallied season-high 17 points against Arizona State (Jan. 22) and grabbed season-high 10 rebounds against Maine (Dec. 21). Averaged 12.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in the games in which he played at least 20 minutes.

As a freshman, averaged 3.9 points and 2.9 rebounds in 13.1 minutes a game. Started eight times. Led team in rebounding in three games. Recorded season-high 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting against Cal State Northridge on Dec. 19. Grabbed season-high eight rebounds twice, against Santa Clara (Nov. 19) and San Francisco (Nov. 26). Averaged 4.5 points and shot .469 (15-for-32) his last 10 games.
